Quit Voice Over? NEVER!

This time I have to say NEVER!  (Not, never say never)…

I read this article the other day & found it very interesting!

One of the most poignant phrases I read, however, was this:
“If you were ever hit with the voice over bug, you know it is not an easy profession to quit.”

Although I do voice over on the side for now – I am consistently learning about it & practicing my craft.  I hope to move into this field full time one day, but I’m OK waiting for now & running my second business.  Social media is very HOT these days, & I happen to be a bit of a tech head – so teaching social media works for me.  I am now in my 7th year of running that business, in addition to the voice over biz I also started in 2008 — Rose Recordings, LLC.

So, the 5 things this article mentions about people quitting voice overs are:

(1)  The jobs were not what I expected
(2)  I got a second job and it paid better, so I don’t do it anymore
(3)  I can do so much more than I am doing right now. I needed to see what’s out there
(4)  Everyone is too cut-throat for me
(5)  I ran out of money!

Huh!  Honestly?  I am scared of none & amazed at some responses by people quoted in this article!  A great read, but somewhat surprising to me… people actually gave up!  Not me.  I’ll continue on & take jobs here & there for now!

Happy Recording!
