Website fun!

Website Mockup

For the last year, I’ve been dreaming up my new voice over website.  What will it look like?  What features should I have?  I even just recently did a mockup with the professional photo I had taken shown above  🙂

Although it’s still not live (it’s been tough to find a reliable website developer these days), I’m definitely getting closer!  So, in the meantime — I’ll keep a few tips in mind from the pros . . . & thought I’d share!

My domain name.  If you can combine your name and the word voice over?  Perfect!  This will increase the chances that  your name will come up in web searches more often than not.

Demos go on Page 1.  Boom!  People come to your site to hear demos, right?  Make sure they can click to hear directly from the landing page.  I’ll also plan to have them near the top of the page, not hidden below the fold.

Demos need to be downloadable.  Potential clients often download the demos of talents they like to their computer for easy access.  Web guys can make this happen!

Have testimonials.  I didn’t really plan for this one as you can see from my mockup, but after reading a few blogs about the subject – I agree this is great to have.  Right now, I keep of all the nice things clients say about me on this site ~ https://www.voices.com/people/RoseC – but I plan to have a “Testimonials” link.  Building trust is always a good thing!

Happy Recording!
