I’ve been invited to speak . . .
to 18 eight year olds at a school in Park City next week for “Career Day!”

What a joy!  –> to be able to speak to children about what I do.  I chose to speak to them about being on the radio, that way they can connect with their local community radio station to get more involved if they’d like.

Kids this age might not know what classic rock is, so the plan is to have them guess what bands would be in the genre & play a clip of songs for them to start.  Then we’ll move into a discussion of being “on” all the time.  Like, what if you don’t feel good (or sound good), would you go into work?  Not if you sound like a frog of course <& I’ll imitate a frog sound>!  What if I have a bad day <I’m angry>?  How should I counter those feelings with what sound I need to have live on the air?

A-ha! I’ll read a script to them & ask how much it changes with a regular face & then with a smile  🙂  I’ll also pass around a cool photo of the muscles in the face for them to look at.  Oh, & finally a few brave ones will be called up to record some fun tongue-twisters into my mic!  A fun diversion for kids on the second-to-last-day of school for sure!

& shhhhh!  They don’t know it yet, but I’m saving the best tongue-twister to be recorded by the TEACHER  😉

Happy Recording!
