The New Radio Station Location!

18 Oct

I am super-excited about the new location of the Community Radio Station, KHOL here in town.  The offices & broadcasting rooms are right across the street from the Wort Hotel, & it’s much nicer than what we’ve had for the past few years.

The only problem?  I went into the studio last night to do some recording for my next Local Lady Talk show (“The Women Men Avoid”) & there was no carpeting/sound material on the walls to stop the sound bounce in it’s tracks.  It was so bad, that I decided to leave & have a rerun place for this week’s show until they have some type of material in place.

Acoustic foam is important when recording — & there’s lots of it out there.  Just do a Google search of “Acoustic Foam” & a plethora of information will appear before your eyes.  Keep in mind that acoustical foam is well-suited to alleviate slap & flutter echo, the 2 most common problems that are often associated  with inaccurate room acoustics.  There are other types of foam, but I think our community radio station should definitely spring for something . . . soon!

Happy Recording!
