Top 5 Travel Recording Tips!

19 Aug

Sometimes Voice Actors travel.  & that seems to be the time when we are asked to do an important job, or a quick fix-it!  Although all of our travels don’t take us to rooms like the one pictured above, hotels can double as your recording studio.  Here are some tips on what to do/ask for while on the road ~

1)  Ask for a room on the highest level in a hotel, away from elevators and vending/ice machine.

2)  Turn off the heat/cooling system while recording (or it will be recorded as background noise).

3)  The perfect, fully adjustable stand is right there in the closet: the ironing board!

4)  A towel over your head works to deaden the sound perfectly.

5)  If you can’t bring your pop filter (can be bulky), just hold a pen vertically in front of your mouth as you record… it really works!*
