The below is a blog post written for the Victory Circles Radio show (http://victorycircles.com/radio-show). I’ll be interviewed on a podcast Wednesday, August 21 & this information is crucial to all entrepreneurs in business!
Branding for your business is important right?
Well, let’s look specifically a bit deeper into a question that’s not always considered when it comes to branding . . .
“Why is a consistent voice for your business beneficial?”
Branding has changed a lot over the years. It’s been proven time and time again that proper branding can result in higher sales of not only one product or service, but on other products associated with that brand. For example, if a customer loves General Mills and trusts the brand, they are more likely to try other products offered by the company. So, it can be said that the brand is the overall personality that identifies a product, service or company.
What is YOUR brand?
Brand recognition is most successful when people can state a brand without even being exposed to the company’s name, but rather through visual or sound signifiers. Let’s talk about what we hear. For example, Disney has been successful at branding certain characters with the way they sound – Donald Duck will always have that “quacky” sound. Porky Pig has a stutter. Goofy sounds . . . well, goofy! And, even a unique tune or set of notes can denote a brand. NBC’s chimes are a famous example.
What kind of sound should your business have?
Maybe if you’re a spa the initial feel is ahhhhhh. A light, airy, relaxing sound.
If you are a leadership consultant, maybe you have a deeper voice that commands a more “powerful” sound. Although these are polar opposite examples, remember there is much in between. How would an artsy clothing designer sound? An accountant?
Think about it.
What sound will relate to your audience?
After you think about it, FEEL it.
Record that sound & make it part of your branding!
